Advertisement - An 'ad' is a public promotion of a product or service.

Brochure - A booklet or pamphlet that is used to provide information or advertise a product or service.

Collateral - Printed material that advertises a business and its products and services.

Copy - The written text found in advertising, marketing and promotional materials.

Content Writer - A copywriter who writes copy for the web. Also known as a web copywriter or website copywriter.

Direct mail - Advertising that goes straight to the targeted customer via postal mail service.

E-commerce - Electronic commerce. Business transactions that take place over the Internet.

FAQ - Stands for Frequently Asked Questions.

Freelance - A copywriter that works for themselves.

Keyword - Pertains to SEO (see below). Popular key-terms related to your website.

Landing page - The page your website visitors 'land' on or arrive at once they click your website link.

Meta-tags - HTML code in your web site that includes keywords to help search engines rank your site.

Newsletter - A report giving news of interest to a select group of people (usually people who sign up to receive it).

Portfolio - A sample of work that has been created by a copywriter. Used to show prospective clients.

SEO - Stands for Search Engine Optimisation and relates to the activities that contribute to a website ranking highly.

Site Designer - The creator of a web page or entire site of web pages.
